Location and travel information

The School will be held at the INIFTA institute in the city of La Plata, Argentina. INIFTA is a theoretical and applied physical chemistry research institute sited on the premises of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), La Plata, Argentina, and run together with the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) and the Comisión de Investigaciones Científicas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (CIC).

The institute has two conference rooms with multimedia capabilites and it is located close to the city downtown with lots of restaurants, hotels and cultural events.

Because of their scientific production and devoted researchers and fellows, INIFTA concentrates one of the three more important academic centres for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and experience in Synchrotron Light based Techniques in Argentine.

La Plata is the capital of Buenos Aires Province and it is located at one hour driving distance from Buenos Aires city, the Argentinean capital.

The city, founded in 1882, was designed as an urbanistic model of quality of life and beauty. Its design combines the geometry with the ideal of ecology: tree-lined and wide avenues with squares every 6 blocks and three big parks.

It holds the second biggest university of Argentina with almost 90000 students in their 17 colleges and was included since 1998 for the General Conference of the Unesco in the lists of sites to be recognized as Historic and Cultural patrimony of the Humanity.

Its Museum of Natural History is considered the 5th in importance worldwide because of its collections and the scientific research that is carried out.
